Don't Forget our Defense

The Green Bay Packers have now won four straight games.  In those games their offense has been unstoppable.  Last Sunday’s game against Minnesota proved this Aaron Rodgers hit 22 of his 31 pass attempts, had 301 yards and 4 Touchdowns.  Rodgers hit seven different receivers with passes but Greg Jennings proved why he is number one on the depth chart, catching seven passes for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Now in this game it’s easy to forget the performance of the defense but they came up huge.  The Defense held a hot Vikings offense to a field in the 1st quarter and then in the second quarter in Green Bay territory Tramon Williams intercepted Brett Favre which lead to a touchdown with 5 seconds left in the half from Rodgers to James Jones.   The fact of the matter is Green Bay’s defense is heating up just as much as their offense is.  The Defense has given up 10 points in the last three games and keeping Opponents from scoring will be an important job for them with the games the Packers have remaining.  The Packers have 6 games remaining this season with tough games against Atlanta, New England, The New York Giants and Chicago Bears still remaining.  However these games can easily be won by Packers if they continue to play well defensively and get the ball into the end zone offensively.
Finally, in fantast news Michael Vick proved on Sunday is not a fantasy god. The giants defense had strong coverage on Desean Jackson all night and kept Vick contained that was the secret to holding him to just 19 fantasy points,  30 less than the week before.  Therefore don’t be afraid to bench Vick if you have another strong QB.  The Buffalo Bills are going to fight the rest of their season just as we saw them do against Cincinnati, Stevie Johnson is a must start receiver as he is the Bills biggest weapon.  Finally we’ll start and end on the Green Bay Packers, start Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings this week Atlanta’s defense is 23rd against the pass and that bodes well for their prolific pass attack.
Until Next Time,
                             Go Pack Go
